Good impact management is built on a solid foundation of planning and design, and we’re excited to announce that Australia’s gold standard data platform for planning, design and mapping social impact has merged with Impact Seed.
Since 2018, Community Insight Australia has been the go-to mapping platform for social and economic indicators across Australia. It is an online tool that aggregates data sources from providers like the ABS and Centrelink, presenting simple visual maps and reports for companies, governments and social service providers to understand the difference between localities.
Founder Emma Tomkinson said “Community Insight Australia has gone from strength to strength since 2016 and we now have leaders across sectors using our platform. What we haven’t done is reach the vast range of organisations who could benefit from using up-to-date maps to target their services to areas of need, and tailor them to those communities. This is where the merge with Impact Seed is a huge opportunity. I’m really looking forward to working together to get CIA to all those organisations who need our data at the moment.”
Impact Seed Founding Director Kylie Hansen said “After 6 months of working closely with Emma, we’re excited to be formalising this merger. The platform supports the critical and urgent community investment and service planning decisions being undertaken by government, philanthropic foundations and corporates to target areas of greatest need. In a WA context, the platform can support local governments and funders in the development of social impact assessments and plans to support their communities both in terms of an immediate response, and in pandemic recovery and regeneration”
